5 neighborhoods. 1 District.
Southtown The Arts District (STAD) comprises 5 neighborhoods: Collins Garden, King William, Lavaca, Lone Star and Roosevelt. Directly connected to downtown, these neighborhoods host San Antonio’s creative culture. Cutting edge bars and restaurants, innumerable artist studios, art complexes, museums, distilleries, breweries, architects and designers reside here. STAD is home to First Friday and Second Saturday, the city’s longest running artwalks (20 years). These events are great opportunities to support our local art scene and businesses as well as meet people in the district.
The objective of STAD and this website is to unify, market and promote STAD’s creative culture and businesses under one District making it easier for the general public, collectors and tourists to find us.
This is your community and you want to be a part of the next step. The area has grown steadily over 25 years and rapidly in the last five demonstrating growth, longevity and sustainability. It is time to unify, market and promote STAD’s creative culture under one brand. See how you benefit.

This website would not be possible without the support of the Department of Arts & Culture, District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales and District 1 Councilman Roberto Treviño. Thank you for your consistent support and endorsement of this endeavor.
